The opposition DSS party has announced it would submit a draft resolution to parliament, seeking new negotiations on Kosovo and Metohija. The draft document will also call for the annulment of the agreement on freedom of movement "reached between the representatives of Serbia and of the illegal institutions of Kosovo, with EU's mediation", leader Vojislav Kostunica stated in Belgrade on Friday, according to Beta news agency. Opposition party wants new Kosovo negotiations According to him, the agreement violates the Serbian Constitution and Resolution 1244, since it inherently recognizes the institutions of the non-existent state of Kosovo and personal documents issued by "this state". Tanjug reports that Kostunica called for talks in line with Resolution 1244 and under the mandate of the UN Security Council. "New negotiations are necessary because the unilateral and illegal operation of illegitimate institutions of Kosovo, EULEX and KFOR, which brought Albanian customs and police officers to the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings, egregiously violated UNSC Resolution 1244," he said, and added: "These unilateral and illegal moves interrupted and nullified the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, facilitated by the EU." The party's declaration draft also rejects as illegal the European Union demands for Serbia to "normalize its relations with Kosovo in line with the SAA," and also, "establish good neighborly relations with Kosovo". Kosovo and Metohija is an integral part of Serbia, not a neighboring country that Serbia ought to normalize relations with and establish good neighborly relations, he pointed out. "Such demands are illegal because as a UN member, inviolability of her internationally recognized border is guaranteed to Serbia," Kostunica concluded. Vojislav Kostunica (FoNet, file)
