League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) leader Nenad Canak says he finds "the dilemma about the potential choice between Kosovo and the EU to be unclear". He believes that the idea about partition in Kosovo is very dangerous because it would trigger highly dangerous processes in Macedonia, Montenegro and in the wider region. LSV party leader doesn't understand Kosovo-EU "dilemma" He said that it is not quite clear to him what the nature of the choice is and what the options on the table are. When we talk about the EU, it implies a set of obligations, not just rights, we agree to take on in order to accelerate Serbia's development and resolve numerous disputes in the territory of South-East Balkans, Canak said in an interview for the Novi Sad-based daily Dnevnik and added that on the other hand, Belgrade currently has no power in Kosovo, thus it is not clear what it could renounce there. The LSV leader believes that Kosovo is still surrounded by a quasi-patriotic game that boils down to 'recycling' of historical myths or insistence upon the form instead of content. If standards need to be the same for Serbia and Kosovo when accessing the EU and if there must be no borders, then it is only logical to ask whether this is the best option for citizens of Serbia and Kosovo, Canak said and added that this is the reason why the process of EU accession needs to be accelerated promptly in order to have this problem solved.
