Today marks the eighth anniversary of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic's murder. Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, accompanied by the ministers, laid a wreath in front of the government headquarters at noon. Eighth anniversary of Djindjic’s murder The wreaths will also be laid by members of former Prime Minister Zoran Zivkovic's government. The Democratic Party (DS) and the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) will pay their respects to Djindjic by organizing a walk to his grave. “Serbia is today more than ever aware of the tragedy it was exposed to on March 12 and I think that more people today, after these eight years, are capable of understanding the significance of the policy that Zoran Djindjic symbolizes. He is more alive than all other figures in our political every day life,“ LDP leader Cedomir Jovanovic pointed out. “This is why we will go for a walk on Saturday and according to the announcements we have, it will be the biggest walk in the last several years. What is it that brings people to the street? It's not only a sense of obligation to Zoran and sympathy with his tragedy and his family's tragedy, but also a demonstration of readiness to make a decent country out of this country, the way he wanted and believed,“ he stated. Djindjic was assassinated eight years ago by members of the Special Operations Unit (JSO) and Zemun gang. The wreaths will also be laid by members of former Prime Minister Zoran Živković's government.

The Democratic Party (DS) and the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) will pay their respects to Đinđić by organizing a walk to his grave.
