Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said in Athens that Serbia wants to improve state and economic cooperation with Greece. He said that special attention must be paid to questions of strategic importance such as joints projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors. Dacic urges better cooperation with Greece At a meeting of a Serbo-Greek business council, in which 40 officials of the Athens Chamber of Commerce participated, Dacic said that it is of essential importance for Serbia to stabilize the situation in the region and to develop good relations with its neighbors. He said that Serbia believes that all questions must be solved through dialogue and in the spirit of mutual trust. Srbijagas CEO Dusan Bajatovic also participated in the conference in Athens. He said that despite the economic crisis in Greece, the country has private capital ready to be invested in Serbia. “On the other side, the existing investments should be maintained, especially in the banking sector, because they make up almost one-fifth of the international banking sector,” he said, according to a statement. Bajatovic said that there should be a reaction to the speculation on the possible problems in the banking sector and in terms of the quality of the coming tourist season in Greece.
