A court chamber in Pristina, made up of EULEX and local judges, has decided to postpone the trial of Albin Kurti for Feb. 22. Kurti is the leader of the radical ethnic Albanian Self-Determination movement in Kosovo,accused of participation in a group that committed criminal offences, including "obstruction of official persons performing their duties and calls to resistance". Pristina: Kurti trial postponed The indictment refers to the demonstrations in Pristina in February 2007. The court said it decided to postpone the proceedings today in order to give the defense time to prepare its case in line with the law. Meanwhile, 40 NGOs and other organizations launched a campaign asking for the charges against Kurti to be dropped. The petition is being signed in Pristina and other towns. Kurti told local media last night that he would not show up before the judges voluntarily, as that would mean he recognized the EULEX-run court, which, he explained, he found "unacceptable".
