State Secretary in the Defense Ministry Dusan Spasojevic says that the situation in the south of the country is stable. Spasojevic, who is also the vice-president of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Bujanovac, Presevo and Medvedja, said that it was vital that the government and state devote more attention to development and the economy, the integration of Albanians into state and social life, and, in particular, the survival of the Serbs in the south of central Serbia. MoD: Situation in south stable “I am confident that in the coming period, the Coordination Body will dedicate itself to the Serbs, Albanians, Roma and all those living in those municipalities,” he said in a statement published by Politika. “The state of Serbia and the Coordination Body will not give in to any kind of blackmail. We cannot have serious talks with those who blackmail us because blackmail is not an ally in the present world of communications,” Spasojevic said, commenting on a message from Albanian party representatives in the municipalities of Bujanovac and Presevo, who say they will not take part in the Body's work if UNMIK diplomas cease to be recognized, as announced by Education Minister Zarko Obradovic. He added that the Cepotina military base would be complete by the end of the autumn, calling it a “strategically important project”.
