Deputy PM Bozidar Djelic says the project of Serbia's EU integration could be achieved in four to six years. This, Djelic, DS, explained on Saturday speaking during a panel discussion in Novi Sad, organized as part of the EXIT music festival, will happen if "authorities and the entire society are efficient in their work towards the achievement of this goal". Djelic: Serbia might join EU "in four to six years" He added that Serbia had the administrative capacity to join the European Union "in this shortest term", according to Tanjug news agency. Explaining why Serbia should join, Djelic said that "some of the advantages of this road of freedom for citizens were important economic benefits for the state". He said that there was "no state in which a significant increase of the living standards had not occurred parallel with the European integration". "We are not going to Europe to get money, but when you are a member of a wealthy club you have money for many things," Djelic said. Speaking about the Hague cooperation condition, insisted on by European Union, Djelic said that this condition "will not disappear", and stressed that "work should be done on the individualization of responsibility for war crimes and reconciliation in the region". On the other hand, judgments, such as the Hague Tribunal acquittals of Bosnian Muslim Naser Oric and Kosovo Albanian Ramush Haradinaj, "do not help for this international tribunal to be accepted by the Serbian society as a relevant instrument for punishing war crimes," according to Djelic.
