The police in the town of Pozarevac have arrested two persons on suspicion that they committed a grave act against general safety.

Four persons arrested over Silver Lake tragedy

The suspects have been named with their initials and age as D.S. (64) and M.S. (63), both from Nis, a town in southern Serbia. They are currently held in police custody that can last up to 48 hours.

The suspects are charged with renting a paddling boat to the boys - aged 13 and 14 - without including life jackets.

The headmaster of the Karadjordje elementary school from Raca Kragujevacka and a football coach employed by the school have also been arrested.

Tanjug said it learned unofficially from the police that these two suspects - who on Sunday took a group of children, the two victims among them, to the lake - are also currently held in custody. Members of Serbian Gendarmerie's diving unit on Monday recovered the boys' bodies from the lake.
