Several persons have been arrested in Spain in connection with Serbian crime boss Luka Bojović’s criminal group, including his wife and brother.

BELGRADE Several persons have been arrested in Spain in connection with Serbian crime boss Luka Bojovic’s criminal group, including his wife and brother. Bojovic’s brother Nikola and wife Barbara were arrested in the joint operation of the Serbian and Spanish police. The police also searched around 20 apartments and offices in Alicante and Las Palmas. Aside from executions and money laundering, the group was also involved in drug trafficking from South America to Spain and other European countries. Serbian police Director Milorad Veljovic told B92 that 15 persons linked with Bojovic's group were arrested in Spain. Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic has stated that Vladimir Mijatovic, Nenad Jorac, Slavica Ristovic, Zeljko Nesovic and several other persons were arrested aside from Bojovic's wife and brother. Luka Bojovic was arrested in Valencia on February 9. He is suspected of being a Zemun gang leader since March 2003, after PM Zoran Djindjic's assassination.
