The Kosovo government has condemned the desecration of the grave of a Serb in Gnjilane. Kosovo Albanian authorities in Pristina stated that it was a criminal act of vandalism. The government added that it supports equal rights for all communities in Kosovo. “Such an act should not be allowed by anyone to be used for ‘low political goals,’” the government stated. The grave of the late Zivka Jovanovic in the city cemetery in Gnjilane was vandalized. Kosovo police confirmed that the grave of the Serbian woman was vandalized, adding that she was laid to rest two days ago. The Jovanovic family visited the grave and found the coffin dug out with items missing from it. The body was then relocated to the village of Koretiste, where it was buried once more.
