Serbia to request ex-KLA's extradition

Justice Minister Snezana Malovic says a request for extradition of Muharem Gasi will be forwarded to the Italian judiciary in the coming days. Gasi is a former member of the ethnic Albanian so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and is indicted for war crimes committed in the province in 1999. Serbia to request ex-KLA's extradition In a statement for Tanjug, Malovic said that intensive work on gathering documentation is being done at her ministry, adding that a court in Bologna will be competent for Gasi's extradition. Gasi has been indicted for the murder of two Serbs and injuring another three persons in the village of Berkovac, near Klina. Gasi had a refugee status in Italy. He lived near Rimini, where he worked as a truck driver. He was arrested on the basis of an international arrest warrant issued by Serbia.
