Serbian police (MUP) say they have filed criminal charges against the son of B92 TV host Olja Beckovic. The charges against the minor, now handed over to the First Municipal Court in Belgrade, cite possession of marijuana. Criminal charges filed against Beckovic son The boy, identified as L.V., was taken to a police station in downtown Belgrade along with two friends, where he told officers that 7.25 grams of the drug found in their possession belonged to him. The chief of the MUP precinct where the boy was initially taken, Zeljko Perosevic, denied tabloid Kurir's report that said Beckovic, who sat in on her son's questioning, threatened the policemen there. According to Perosevic, Beckovic's behavior was "exceptionally correct, she was aware that her son had created a problem, and cooperated exceptionally well" with his colleagues. In the wake of the tabloid's original article about the case, which branded L.V. a "drug dealer", condemnation of the reporting came from journalist associations, the OSCE mission in Serbia, and B92, while the Ministry of Culture filed its own misdemeanor charges against the paper. Beckovic is the host of the long-running television talk show Impression of the Week, aired on B92 TV.
