Doctor murdered in Prizren

A doctor, Nde Gega, has been murdered as he was leaving a hospital. The murdered has since given himself up to police. According to a statement from Kosovo police, Gega (46) was gravely wounded at around 16:00 CET, but despite a speedy intervention by doctors, he succumbed to his wounds half an hour later. The attacker fled the scene in a red Mercedes, before surrendering to police on the approach to Djakovice. The gun presumed to be the murder weapon was confiscated by the police. Seven months ago the orthopedic surgeon negotiated the engagement of the accused’s daughter and a young man. The engagement was called off about a week ago, which, police believe, may be the motive for the attack. An investigation is under way.
