There was no match-making. This is what is called going to ask for hand which is tradition among many nations in the Balkans. This was not an arrangement to what I am seeing here. Traditions are traditions.

Is someone here saying that if something goes wrong, the tradition of murder is OK? Are you people in the 21st century? And this place thinks it can be accepted by the free world?

This happends in US,Serbia and in every country of the world. It dosen't mean nothing. For a year ago a swedish man killed his daugher. Does that means Sweden are in the fourteenth centery ? Stop using incident to portrait albanians as animals.

What about in Serbia when a man take his gun and travels trough the village shoting everything that moves ? Do you still reamember that incident ? My God this still exists!!!!


Stop acting like children because this stuff happends everywhere. Who are you to judge when worse things happend in your neighbourhood. And who can judge when they don't know the history ? What would you do in the same situation ? Nobody knowes.

There was actually nothing abnormal till the guns spoke.

If young people date and decide to marry, there will be still a "pro-forma" mediator to keep things traditional way. The doctor maybe just did a favor for some people he knew. Even in Hungarian or Romanian villages they do have certain things not belonging to 21st century like... "sacrificing" an unfortunate chicken and showing off some blood on bed sheets.

If young people don't date anymore than naturally the arrangement is called off. From the age of involved parent (43) it is obvious, the kid(s) are in early 20-s at best, maybe late teens. Breaking off is pretty normal at that age, too.

What is very abnormal is to let the gun speak at certain stage and the fact that the news "made" it into B92 proves, it is somewhat very unusual. Still, this is of "family feud" category. Everywhere family feuds can end up in serious violence. Few years ago someone in Silicon Valley killed his g/f than himself due dating issues - and Silicon Valley is definitly 21st Century. So don't make any conclusions. Very unfortunate, very sad but luckily very uncommon.

Hope, this sad event won't haunt the future relationships of the young (ex)couple.
