Serbia has to look for new markets – PKS chief The PKS chief cautioned about the possibility of a reduced demand for products from Serbia due to the crisis in countries that are the country's important foreign trade partners, such as Italy, Greece and regional neighbors, which necessarily meant that Serbia had to look for new markets. “The free trade agreements that Serbia has signed with many countries provide great opportunities, but these cannot be used to their full extent due to the fact that production cannot be raised to the level that the Serbian economy could indeed be at,” Bugarin told Tanjug. “For this we need to have adequate loans, with favorable interest rates, which would ensure the development and improvement of competitiveness of Serbian economy,” he stressed. Bugarin said he was not very optimistic that Serbia could quickly get out of the crisis. He reiterated that Serbia should not be borrowing any further, as the two previous years had seen a significant public debt increase.
