A total of seven companies have applied for a tender to buy a 51-percent stake in Telekom Srbije, the Finance Ministry announced, Beta reports. In a press release, the ministry said that Deutsche Telekom, France Telekom, Telekom Austria, America Mobile, Weather Investments Turkcell and Wimpelcom were interested in buying the stake. 7 companies interested in Telekom The tender commission in charge of the sale has ruled all seven firms fit to participate in the tender, the press release said. "The companies have until Feb. 21, 2011 to submit a binding offer to buy Telekom Srbije; if there are several offers, an auction will be organized late in February in front of television cameras," Vuk Djokovic, a state secretary at the Finance Ministry, said. He added that the majority package in Telekom Srbije would be sold to the highest bidder or the only bidder, in the event that only one offer was made.
