Minister content with progress of bridge repairs

Infrastructure Minister Milutin Mrkonjic said that he is content with the progress being made in the restoration of the Gazela Bridge in Belgrade. He said that the first phase would be completed soon and that the construction part of the project would begin on July 25. The government is fulfilling a majority of the obligations for the realization of large infrastructure projects, Mrkonjic said, adding that the bridge is a part of Corridor 10, and that work is continuing on many sections of the Corridor 10 highway with full intensity. “We will arrive from Belgrade to Horgos and Kelebija by way of a new two-lane highway next year,” he said. He said that there would be four of six new tenders announced for July that would be opened on Sunday. One is for the bypass route Batajnica-Dobanovci, for which money was received at the same time as the funds for the Gazela Bridge arrived. Mrkonjic added that the tenders for the tunnel by Dimitrovgrad and the highway section from Dimitrovgrad to Pirot would also be announced.
