Serbia has been granted the license for exporting fish products to the EU, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management said on Thursday. The legislative and practical requirements for the export of fish products to the EU were presented in 2009, the ministry reiterated. Serbia to export fish to EU The Food and Veterinary Office's (FVO) veterinary inspection visited Serbia early in 2010 to check the facts. The inspection found that Serbia's control system of production and transportation of fish and aquaculture products fully corresponds to the EU standards. As a result, Serbia was granted the license for the export of fish. The obtaining of the export permission means "a fresh start for Serbia, which now makes it possible for the country to use up all of its potentials in the sector of fishing and to export a large quantity of fish products to the European market," the statement reads.
