Labor Minister Rasim Ljajic said that the government would most likely pass a decision for increasing the minimum wage per hour to RSD 90 on Monday. The current minimum wage is RSD 87 per hour. Ljajic: Minimum wage decision on Monday “When the Social-Economic Council cannot agree on a minimum wage, according to the law, the decision is made by the government on a proposal from the corresponding ministry,” Ljajic said. The proposal of the union was to have the minimum wage increased to RSD 92, but the Serbian Employers’ Union in the Social-Economic Council opposed that proposal, as well as the one for increasing the minimum wage to RSD 90. The three-dinar increase will increase the minimum monthly wage by RSD 500. The Social-Economic Council is made up of state officials, and representatives of worker unions and employer unions.
