The International Monetary Fund's (IMF) will allow for EUR 180mn of its loan to Serbia to be disbursed on April 6. This is half of the loan's third tranche and will be used to strengthen the country's foreign exchange reserves, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has stated. EUR 180mn of IMF loan available The move came after a positive evaluation of Serbia's performance under a Stand-By Arrangement (SBA). This will bring the total amount of funds provided via the deal to EUR 1.3bn, which is 253 percent of the country's IMF quota. In 2009, Serbia received the previous two tranches totaling EUR 1.13bn, while the total figure approved was EUR 2.87bn.
