The World Bank and Serbia have concluded talks on the first installment of financial assistance worth USD 100mn to the Serbian budget. Presenting a report on public spending in Serbia, World Bank representative Marina Wess said that talks had ended last week and that it was now a question of waiting for the World Bank in Washington to approve the first installment. The World Bank announced in July that it planned to earmark budgetary assistance of USD 200mn to Serbia to help it bolster the private and financial sectors.
