A draft protocol and list of products slated for liberalization have been harmonized by a Serbo-Russian working group. The products, set to be exported from Serbia to Russia, were agreed on as the Working Group for Promotion of Trade and Economic Cooperation and Modernization of Trade Mechanisms between Serbia and the Russian Federation met in Moscow this week. Under the provisions of the Foreign Trade Agreement between the two countries, which came into effect on August 28, 2000, customs duty payments were abolished on most of the products from the territory of the two countries. The meeting, the statement added, saw agreement on most of the items regarding the future duty-free trade, while it was agreed that liberalization of Serbian exports of passenger cars, carpets and TV sets "should be the subject of the next round of talks".

The announcement came today in a statement from the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development.
