HRW calls on govt. to protect LGBT community

Human Rights Watch (HRW) has called on the Serbian government to fully protect the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons. According to the HRW website, the organization sent a letter to Serbian President Boris Tadic advising that the Serbian government should quickly take visible steps in order to end a spate of violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. HRW also calls on the Serbian government to institute training in schools about equality and the need to prevent discrimination.
