Serbian White Eagles football club are the new Canadian champions, after beating Trois Rivieres Attak in a penalty shootout. The game, played in Toronto over the weekend, saw the Eagles win 3-2. Serbian White Eagles take Canadian title Extra time ended in a 2-2 draw, with goals from Alex Braletic, Sasa Viciknez, and Nicolas Lesange and Jean-Phillipe Etienne for Trois. This is the third season running that this year's champions have made in to the Canadian league, CLS, final. The team, led by manager Milan Cancarevic, beat the North York Astros and the Italia Shooters in the playoffs to reach the final, and claim the second title in the club's history. CLS is the only professional football league in Canada gathering Ontario and Quebec-based clubs, with plans to expand to include teams from the western parts of the country by 2010.
