Luhansk People's Republic seeks recognition from Serbia

A letter sent by the Supreme Council of the LPR pleads that the People's Republic of Luhansk is recognized as a sovereign, independent state.

After a change of the regime in Kiev, the Luhansk and Donetsk regions of Ukraine in May held independence referendums. According to local officials, around 90 percent of citizens who turned out in Luhansk voted in favor of independence.
