Serbia could join NATO by 2010

“After all, our common strategic goal is to rid ourselves of Milošević’s institutional heritage. If we consider the time necessary for implementing the Partnership Action Plan, and an additional year for joining the plan after becoming a Partnership for Peace member, the earliest date would be 2010. There is the political side to the problem, not only in Belgrade, but also among the NATO allies, but there is also the problem of operational incompatibility with NATO. If both these issues start moving in the right direction, we can talk about 2010 membership date”, Har Vage concluded.
