The tender for the sale of Zastava Auto will be announced on December 15, says CEO Zoran Radojevic. Radojevic said that experts from the Citadel consulting company, the Privatization Agency, together with Zastava economists and lawyers were preparing the tender documentation. Zastava tender on December 15 “The job is certain to be finished by the start of December, when the starting price will also be known,” he stated. He did not wish to specify the identities of the potential buyers, although according to earlier information from the government, several well-known foreign companies were interested in the Kragujevac manufacturer, including General Motors and Fiat. Zastava has a five-year business-technical cooperation contract with GM in the production of the Opel Astra 2, and with Fiat, under whose license it manufactures the Zastava 10, and these contracts are certain to form part of the company’s tender documentation. However, the Privatization Agency says that the tender date has yet to be confirmed, though they added that it would take place in mid-December.
