Iran “completely blocks” Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab

Iran has now completely blocked the Strait of Hormuz, according to Tasnim.

Tehran had previously claimed that it allowed certain ships to pass through key maritime routes under Iranian conditions.

The Bab al-Mandab Strait, which connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean, will also be blocked by the “resistance front.”

Iran is an ally of the Houthi militant group in Yemen, a country bordering this strategic maritime chokepoint.

Iran suspends communication with the United States

The Iranian negotiating team is suspending the exchange of messages with the United States through intermediaries due to Israeli attacks in Lebanon, the semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim News Agency reported.

According to the report, the decision means that indirect communications between Tehran and Washington will be paused as long as the current escalation continues.

The move is being presented by Iranian sources as a response to what they describe as violations of ceasefire conditions and ongoing military developments in the region, particularly in Lebanon.

No independent confirmation of the scope or duration of the communication freeze has been provided.
