“Bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities has seriously damaged the authority of the International Atomic Energy Agency and its safeguards system, which are among the key elements supporting the entire framework of agreements embodied in the NPT,” he added. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they struck around 20 Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon and in the eastern Beqaa Valley today, following repeated attacks carried out by the group during the ceasefire, Israeli media report.

Iran: “EU sanctions on Iran serve only to suppress the basic rights of Iranians”

Spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Esmail Baghaei said today that the sanctions imposed by the European Union on Iran have never been about human rights, and assessed that the measures are aimed against the rights of the Iranian people.

Responding to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s statement that EU sanctions relate to the suppression of women’s rights in Iran, Baghaei wrote on his X account that “no one buys this moralistic theater.”

“The inhumane EU sanctions on Iran have never been about human rights. They are designed to undermine the basic rights of ordinary Iranians. That posture will not earn you even a shred of credibility on the global stage,” Baghaei wrote, adding that such statements reveal “double standards” and the “hypocrisy” of Europe’s “ruling class”.

“U.S. and Israeli operation against Iran will not go without consequences”

The U.S. and Israeli military operation against Iran is a “flagrant and unprecedented act that will have far-reaching consequences” for the nuclear non-proliferation regime, Russian special envoy Andrei Belousov said.

In an interview with the Russian state news agency RIA, Belousov said that the Russian delegation plans to raise the issue at the conference on the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), which is being held in New York.

“A military operation carried out by a nuclear-weapon state, together with and in the interest of a state that is clearly ignoring the NPT, and conducted while bypassing the UN Security Council—the only internationally recognized body authorized to make such decisions—is in itself a flagrant and unprecedented act,” he said.

He warned that it will have “far-reaching consequences both for cooperation within the framework of the NPT and for international relations as a whole.”

“U.S. seizure of Iranian oil is piracy and armed robbery”

Spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Esmail Baghaei condemned today the U.S. seizure of tankers linked to Iran, stating that it amounts to “piracy and armed robbery.”

“This is the return of pirates, only now they operate under state patronage, sail under official flags, and call plunder the enforcement of law,” Baghaei wrote on his X account.

He stressed that the United States should be held accountable for “illegal behavior,” adding that it “strikes at the core of international law and free global trade, while also threatening the fundamental principles of maritime security,” Baghaei said.

Earlier today, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro announced that U.S. forces had seized two tankers “loaded with Iranian oil.”

Today’s meeting between representatives of Iran and Russia held at the Kremlin was very good, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.

“We had a very good meeting with Mr. Putin. It lasted perhaps more than an hour and a half. The topics were discussed in detail, both in bilateral relations and regional issues, as well as in discussions about the war and the American-Zionist aggression. Cooperation between the two countries was also noted, and very good ideas were presented,” Araghchi told reporters after the meeting.
