Ministry of Interior announced: 37 protesters arrested; they attacked citizens, threw flares and pyrotechnics
Officers of Ministry of Internal Affairs identified and brought to official premises 37 individuals who participated in disturbing public order, causing incidents during an unregistered public gathering the previous evening in front of the Serbian Parliament.
The police are working intensively to identify and locate other participants whose actions endangered the safety of citizens and public property.
The police will continue to consistently apply all legal measures to maintain public order, peace, and the safety of all citizens.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported last night that the blockaders attacked citizens who were attending a registered public gathering in Pionirski Park, throwing various objects and pyrotechnic devices at the crowd.
"During the incident, one of the tents, in which people were present at the time, caught fire, seriously endangering their safety and creating a real risk of severe consequences, including injury or death," the Ministry said, adding that a police officer was also injured.
"One police officer, positioned in the cordon at the corner of Takovska Street and Nikola Pašić Boulevard, sustained a calf injury due to the impact of a pyrotechnic device (a firework blast) and was taken to the Emergency Center for medical treatment."
