Stoltenberg sent a clear message to Belgrade and Pristina: NATO is ready

Namely, he answered for the French TV station "France24", when asked how worried he was about the latest events in Kosovo, that his message to both sides was to refrain from statements that contribute to the escalation of the conflict and moves, and to help reduce tensions.

"NATO is very focused on the issue of Kosovo, as well as the Western Balkans. We have a long history, we helped to end two ethnic wars, first in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and later in Kosovo. Our forces are still present there through NATO forces, i.e. KFOR which has almost 4.000 members and is a key factor in stabilizing the region and the situation," said the NATO Secretary General.

And then he sent an even clearer message:

"My message to all parties concerned is: 'refrain from escalatory rhetoric and actions and help reduce tensions' Our forces there are ready, vigilant. NATO and the EU are working closely together."
