It does not sound like this if you read the whole text. What we said was that Miloshevic had never been proven to be a criminal. Formally he died innocent though NATO had enough time to prove his guilt. But they feared that in this case too much shit would hit the ventilator. Including UCK and NATO shit. This is all so irrelevant that either this isn't a story, or the spokesperson is over-egging the omelette as a form of self deception.
Milosevic may have died before the end of the trial, but that does not guarantee that he would have been found innocent.
It is true that the brutality of Assad's regime - and its perpetual grip on power - are certainly to be questioned.
Comparisons can be made with some legitimacy.
I have no doubt that it is Russia that needs to be lambasted for military adventurism and disregard for civilian lives.
The spokesperson just points to the place where Russia feels paranoid.
