Doing Business ranking "to bring investors and jobs"

The Serbian government said on its website tat Mihajlovic, who is also Chairperson of the Ministerial Working Group on the progress of Serbia on the "Doing Business" list, told reporters during a break in the conference "Enhancing the competitiveness of Serbia" organized by NALED, at which the report on the World Bank's “Doing Business 2017” list was presented, said that Serbia is among the top 10 countries in which the greatest progress in reforms has been made.

She underlined that this is the result of efforts of the government of Serbia to implement reforms, as well as of partnership with the World Bank, USAID and the British Embassy in Serbia.

The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that Serbia has improved the position in all 10 areas.

The investors have assessed that Serbia has made progress and improved environment for investment. The goal is to be in the top 20 countries on the “Doing Business” list, Mihajlovic noted.

She pointed out that the government is working every day on improvements in the ease of obtaining connections for electricity, change of cadastre, tax system and the protection of minority shareholders.

Mihajlovic said that the Serbian authorities made the greatest progress in issuing building permits.

The results will be better and better in the coming years. We are thankful to the World Bank on helping us to resolve any dilemma that we had, Mihajlovic added.
