Serbia to increase military sector spending by 25 percent
The budget for the Serbian Army for 2018 will be increased by 25 percent compared to this year, and will amount to 70.5 billion dinars.

NATO was only a military threat during times of warfare in the Balkans - and only then after years of patience and with due warning.
Generally NATO has preserved peace and it continues to do that job successfully.
Serbia is not arming to defend itself against NATO - no amount of weaponary would be enough. Serbia is arming mainly for international status. Serbia is enabled to do cooperative exercises with other countries - even including NATO countries.
It is a usual way of politicians being able to join the international club and build their own feelings of self importance

Good move by Serbia. With NATO countries surrounding us the smartest thing to do is increase military spending and invest in sophisticated technology. Serbia has the capacity to develop and create new technology plus purchase advanced weaponry. One thing Serbs need to remember is that we have sacrificed so much for our independence and we need to keep our independence by investing in the best technology and weaponry to protect our country and be able to be independent
