Reuters estimates, based on these results, that the Socialist Party could win more than half of 140 seats in parliament.
AFP reports that the first preliminary results, based on a small percentage of the counted votes, also show the victory of the Socialists, who won about 50 percent, while the Democrats took about 40 percent of the vote.
Albania held the ninth parliamentary elections since the fall of the communist regime of Enver Hoxha in 1991, and the first since full membership of that country in NATO and the obtaining of a candidate status for joining the European Union.
The Election Commission extended the deadline for voting on Sunday for one hour - until 20:00 hours due to the low turnout.
You have put Serbia in her place when it was necessary to do so, keep up the good work.
How about it fellas, a nation with a Muslim majority has voted in a non-Muslim to be their PM for the second time.

I love this guy. He shows up to EU conferences with other Balkan leaders wearing a bright blue blazer, a logo t-shirt and high top shoes. He also wore elevator shoes when standing next to Vucic.
I dont think he'll make Albania a better place to live but neither will his opponents. So ill go with Rama because he's such a riot!!!

It is a very comic situation. We had an opposition to Rama's black poture, now we dont have it anymore thanks to americans' meddling in our affairs. As for Rama being a christian, that is the most funny thing Ive ever heard. The only God Rama has are uncle Soros' dollars. Rama is mentally ill, ill like those sad butterflies he draws in his office. Rama is corrupted to the bone and in a normal country Rama would have been put in a mental health hospital but unfortunately corrupted and mentally unstable people have governed albania from the very creation of our state. Nothing new under the sun ignorant masses deserve this kind of corrupted leader. People who have dignity chose to BOYCOT this political class. The turnout was 36% one hour before Rama took to facebook inciting any single region and village to go voting and another hour was awarded from the Commission!
