"NATO is ready"

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said in Ankara that the military alliance ‘will always do everything necessary to defend Turkey,’ a member state at which four Iranian missiles were fired last month.

“Iran is sowing terror and chaos, and this is strongly felt here in Turkey. In recent weeks, NATO has successfully intercepted four Iranian ballistic missiles that were heading toward Turkey,” Rutte reminded.

“NATO is prepared for such threats and will always do whatever is necessary to defend Turkey and all other member states,” added the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Meeting with Erdogan

The former Dutch prime minister, who visited the headquarters of Aselsan, the Turkish defense industry giant, praised the “revolution in Turkey’s defense industry” during his visit.

“Faced with the enormous dangers confronting NATO countries, we must continue along this path, producing and innovating even more and even faster,” Rutte emphasized, after which he met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

“These are air defense systems, drones, ammunition, radars, space capabilities, and much more that will protect us. You are developing cutting-edge technologies in this country, and that is exactly what we need,” he added.
