President Boris Tadic says that peace and stability need to be guaranteed and freedom of movement and supply to KFOR units enabled in Kosovo and Metohija. He added that free movement must be ensured for EULEX units, granted they are not transporting members of Pristina (Kosovo Albanian) institutions. "Ensure peace and sustainable solutions" At the same time, Tadic called on KFOR and EULEX to refrain from unilateral moves and use of force in northern Kosovo, the president's press service stated on Friday in Belgrade. Any forceful attempt at removing the roadblocks leads to further escalation of the crisis and pushes us away from a solution for the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, Tadic said and called on all citizens to refrain from any violent acts and reactions to potential provocations that would justify use of force against them. Providing supplies to KFOR and freedom of movement for the international mission constitute an obligation on the basis of the Military Technical Agreement in Kumanovo which Serbia adopted and the UN SC Resolution 1244. Freedom of movement for EULEX is envisaged in the six-point Plan prepared by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon's and adopted by the UN Security Council, Tadic explained. The president underscored that political representatives of northern Kosovo Serbs should invest efforts in the search for potential and sustainable solutions that would serve the interest of citizens.
