NATO General John Craddock says his forces are prepared to respond in the event of violence breaking out in Kosovo. Craddock said these plans included the possibility of quickly reinforcing the 16,000-strong NATO contingent currently in the province. "NATO prepared for all eventualities" "I think that there will be those who’ll want to create mischief and that will manifest itself in the form of conflict, potentially violence in Kosovo," the NATO commander told reporters at the National Press Club in Washington today. He added that NATO considered Kosovo, along with Afghanistan, as "the most volatile issue facing NATO today." "We have carried out contingency planning for the best case and worst case scenarios. I feel very satisfied with what we have done," Craddock said. NATO earlier declared that it would protect all civilians, including the 100,000 Serbs living in Kosovo.
