Protest have been ongoing in Belfast, Northern Ireland, for five days now over a decision regarding the British flag.

BELFAST Protest have been ongoing in Belfast, Northern Ireland, for five days now over a decision regarding the British flag. The flag will no longer be displayed in the town hall in the city throughout the year. In the footage showed on television, torched vehicles and demonstrators clashing in the streets with the police could be seen, reported the AP. The issue of state symbols often causes religious tensions in Northern Ireland, where Protestants generally want to remain in the United Kingdom, and Catholics to unite with the Republic of Ireland.
