They are demanding to be given eleven overdue wages, pension insurance, and for the production at the factory to start again. Workers continue railroad blockade The company's General Director Velimir Radenovic announced yesterday that he would start bankruptcy procedures, but the protestors are saying they would stay on the tracks until they receive their wages. The workers, who spent the cold night outdoors, say that they were even ready to settle for two, instead of eleven wages owed them, but that the owner would not accept that offer. The blockade of the railroad is incurring more financial damage to Serbia Railways than the amount the company owes the workers. "We are not here desiring to block the station, as they presented it, we are here because we have no means to tell the state and the government to look for solutions, so that we can survive this year," said Nebojsa Stankovic, of the company's union. Lapovo municipal president Dragan Zlatkovic visited workers, who were hungry and cold this morning, and brought them sandwiches and mineral water bottles. "This is unbelievable, that people are the hostages of a system. There's a moral issue here, should the state pressure those who own the capital to pay these poor people those salaries so that Railways no longer suffers such damages," Zlatanovic was quoted as saying.
