Vojislav Seselj has been transfered back to his detention unit at the Hague Tribunal after a medical intervention last night, his Serb Radical Party (SRS) said. SRS official and MP Vjerica Radeta told B92 this morning that doctors at a local hospital decided to replace one of the drugs he was receiving, "because it seems it had damaged one of his kidneys". SRS leader transfered back to prison Radeta added that emergency medical services were called to intervene by prison guards when Seselj felt ill last night, and added that Hague Tribunal spokesperson Nerma Jelacic's claim that the medical intervention came "for preventive reasons" was not true. According to Radeta, Seselj contacted his family late on Sunday. The Radicals are demanding that their leader be examined by a team of Serbian doctors headed by Milovan Bojic. Seselj two days ago agreed to this, but the Hague Tribunal's permission is still pending. Seselj surrendered to the Hague Tribunal voluntarily in early 2003, where he has been detained ever since. His trial on war crimes charges started in 2007, while the closing statements are expected in early March of this year. Vojislav Seselj (file) B92
