Serbia has offered a reward of EUR 1mn for information leading to the location or arrest of Ratko Mladic. Beta understands from President of the National Council for Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal Rasim Ljajic that the council took the decision at least night’s session, at the suggestion of the Action Team for Completing Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal. EUR 1mn on Mladic’s head The reward will be paid by the state. Rewards of EUR 250,000 have been offered for the other two fugitives, Stojan Zupljanin and Goran Hadzic. When asked about Radovan Karadzic, the fourth Hague indictee still at large, Ljajic replied that he was not a citizen of Serbia, and that there were no legal grounds for issuing a reward for his capture. However, he added that should anyone provide information leading to the arrest of the former Bosnian Serb leader, they too would be awarded EUR 1mn. The National Council for Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal is made up of the president, the prime minister, the defense and interior ministers, the heads of BIA (the state security agency) and VBA (the military security agency) and the commander-in-chief of the army. The minister stated that the move demonstrated Belgrade’s determination to meet its remaining commitments to the Hague.
