Leader of Partizan fan group Alcatraz Aleksandar Vavic celebrated the election result with Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) leader Ivica Dacic last night. Dacic is also interior minister in the outgoing government. Dacic parties with football hooligan According to B92 investigative program Insajder (Insider), police have filed 12 criminal charges against Vavic for various crimes. He was sentenced several times but no sentence has so far become final. He hired a brass band and provided torches for the Socialists’ celebration on Sunday night. He is seen in the photographs and videos taken at the party. Vavic was sentenced to a year in prison in February for stabbing a Partizan fan with a knife. He is free despite the sentence, which apparently is not yet final. According to police information, 12 criminal charges for violent behavior, weapons possession, inflicting serious bodily injury, robbery and theft have been filed against him. He is one of the football fans that B92’s Insajder investigated. Insajder author Brankica Stankovic was given police protection after the program had been aired. Vavic, who was born in 1986, was shot in an ambush near Tasmajdan Park in downtown Belgrade in February 2011. Belgrade media reported at the time that police suspected that unresolved issues regarding drug business were the motive for the attack. Judge Ivana Ramic sentenced Vavic for inflicting serious bodily injury to Partizan fan Stefan Gajic. Vavic was a Red Star fan at the time but joined Partizan fans soon after the incident. According to the indictment, the incident happened when a group of Partizan fans were writing over some Red Star graffiti in the Belgrade neighborhood of Karaburma. The two groups clashed and Vavic stabbed Gajic. He and other Partizan fans positively identified Vavic during the investigation but after he switched sides they denied he was involved in the incident.
