Serbia will ratify the SAA with Kosovo as her part, the new Kosovo resolution draft says. Beta news agency says that the draft on the state's continued policy on Kosovo and Metohija, forwarded to parliament by the government on July 11, states that "the parliament establishes that the issue of Kosovo and Metohija is mentioned in Article 135 of the SAA that explicitly refers to UN Security Council Resolution 1244 from 1999, which guarantees sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia over Kosovo." New Kosovo resolution "refers to SAA" It was suggested that the draft document be adopted urgently so that the new parliament could declare itself on the country's future policy on the crisis following the unilateral proclamation of Kosovo independence and also confirm the continuity of the state policy towards the province. "In defending the sovereignty, territorial integrity and constitutional order, the Serbian government will use all available legal, political and diplomatic means," it is said in the draft resolution, signed by Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, SPS. According to the document, the government's position on the international presence in Kosovo is that the EULEX could be deployed to the province only if approved by the UN Security Council. The goal of the international presence in Kosovo could not be the implementation of the Ahtisaari plan, the document said, explaining that the Ahtisaari package was rejected by the Security Council and the Serbian parliament. The parliament also established that the document of interim self-rule bodies in Kosovo, published as "the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo," is invalid, because it opposes the UN Charter, the basic principles of international law, Resolution 1244, and the Serbian Constitution. The parliament finds invalid all other documents that are based on the so-called constitution of Kosovo, the draft reads.
