Bosnia calls for negotiated Kosovo outcome

“We are very content with the level of cooperation with international structures that investigate the crimes in Srebrenica, in particular with Interpol. Close contact has been established with the Hague Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia,” he said.

Halilović added that Bosnia and Herzegovina are going to “intensify work” in this direction.

“Such tragedy must not repeat. We have a weighed stance on the genocide of the Bosnians. At present nobody in Bosnia considers the Serbs as guilty of this. There can be no talk about revenge,” the agency quoted the ambassador.

“We would like the question of the status of Kosovo to be decided by bilateral talks between Kosovo and Serbia. At present, this problem increasingly resembles the question of the U.S. and Russia, and not of Serbia and Kosovo. In any case, a decision should satisfy both involved sides.”

Authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina “are ready to accept any decision of the world community on the status of Kosovo,” Halilović said.

“Of course, our authorities will adhere to the decision on Kosovo’s status only if the stances of the two sides are taken into consideration,” he added.

“Kosovo precedent in case of acceptance of Ahtisaari’s plan of granting a limited sovereignty to the province will not influence the stance of Bosnia,” Halilović concluded, according to Itar-Tass.
