Grgić underscored that, as in regular situations, certain cases of contagious diseases are being registered and that was the case even before the floods.

For now, there are no indications that there is a classification of the diseased or any epidemic of infectious diseases in flood-affected areas or collective shelters, she said.

"A triage is being carried out in collective shelters, as much as possible in given conditions, and those who have any symptoms are being accommodated in separate parts, so as to prevent contact with other people, and receiving medical treatments," Grgić said.

Apart from infectious intestinal diseases that pose the biggest threat in collective shelters, there is now a danger of respiratory infections, she said.

Grgić added that the situation is being closely monitored, with the strict regime in force for infectious intestinal and other potential diseases that could occur in such conditions
