NIS - About five thousand of the most vulnerable citizens of Nis since today no longer has the only daily meal – the one that they get in the soup kitchen. The Kitchen in Nis ceased working since they ran out of the money planned for its functioning. The users shared their last meal yesterday. Nis: Last Meal for the Disadvanted Every day, thousands of the most vulnerable citizens of Nis patiently wait in line for the meal. The distribution of hot meals, instead of food packages, began in June. To many people this is the only meal of the day. For the soup kitchen it is allocated 56 million of the city budget, which is about 0.8 per cent, in line with the standards. The money was spent, and the question is whether there will be any for this purpose and after the revision of the budget at the end of August. Branislav Randjelovic, a Councilor of the city of Nis for Social Affairs said that the main reason for having the cash for this purpose rapidly depleted, was an increasing number of users in Nis. City Councilor added that some amendments to the Decision on the rights of social protection and employment, would lead to the number the reduction of the number to 2,000, the nourishment for whom the city of Nis could finance without any problems.
