Today’s march against impunity of violence will go ahead as planned in Pioneer Park, the organizers say. The rally is due to get under way at 16:00 CET. NGO protest against impunity "gets go-ahead" The organizers say that the meeting is for the benefit of the authorities, and not hooligans, who “are in no way partners in the struggle against violence.” The organizers include the Youth Initiative for Human Rights, Linet, the Civil Right Defenders and the Center for Cultural Decontamination. “Currently we have around 50 people who’ve supported the meeting explicitly, or who’ve said they’ll come and speak. I expect there to be around 20 or 30 speakers. There’ll be a lot of familiar faces: Ruzica Djindjic, Branko Cvejic, Ivan Tasovac, Srbijanka Turlajic,” said Goran Miletic from the international Civil Right Defenders NGO. The rally was initially banned by the Stari Grad police, but Interior Minister Ivica Dacic overturned this decision yesterday. The rally’s motto is “Against Violence: For a Legal and Effective State“.
