Police make arrests over 1991 Croatia crimes
The War Crimes Prosecution has not yet confirmed the news.In October 2005, Prosecutor Vladimir Vukčević said his office had started proceedings aimed at determining the responsibility for the murder of Croatian civilians in the village.
Vukovar’s District Court is conducting a procedure against Ljuban Devetko and seventeen other indictees, only one of which is present at the trial, on charges of genocide and other criminal activities.
On January 10, 2003, during the Hague trial of Slobodan Milošević, protected witness C-1204 said some 50 detainees from a camp set up in Lovas were taken to a nearby minefield by Serbian paramilitaries, when they were forced to walk across.
More than twenty people died as a consequence. According to the witness, the survivors were then made to gather the remains of those killed and bury them in a mass grave in a local cemetery.
