Croatian Prime Minster Ivo Sanader and NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer discussed a protocol on Croatia joining the alliance. The two exchanged information regarding the process of ratifying the protocol for Croatia becoming a NATO member and about organizing meetings with NATO leaders, which will meet for a summit on April 3-4 in Strasbourg and Cologne, on the border between France and Germany. Scheffer told Sanader about the efforts he is undertaking in order for the ratification of the protocol to take place, and there was also talk about further steps needed to finish that process, the government statement added.
